Sexy Soup Cart
Kristin Hoppe started the Sexy Soup Cart in May 2009 at the forefront of the movement of renegade street vendors selling fresh, homemade, wholesome food to the San Francisco community. Inspired and moved by the adventurous and enterprising nature of San Franciscans—in particular the uniqueness and spirit of folks in the Mission—Kristin couldn’t resist becoming part of this grassroots movement. Her professional background as a nutritionist and chef, her dedication to the use of seasonal/local/organic food, and the support of her handy cart-building husband allowed her to hit the streets with her delicious and wildly popular soups—all made with local farmer’s market ingredients.
Kristin’s Sexy Soup Cart M.O.:
“I am constantly inspired by the adventurous and enterprising nature of San Franciscans—in particular the uniqueness and spirit of folks in the Mission. I was originally motivated by the community-building I saw when I participated in my first Friday night “Street Supper.” I couldn’t resist being a part of this movement. I love the fun atmosphere it provides for me to meet others in the community who are equally focused on delicious local food. I shop at farmer’s markets and love giving back to the community by supporting local farmers directly, as well as by nourishing my neighbors in the Mission with healthy food!”
