FAQ
What is a Nutrition Consultant & Coach?
A holistic nutritionist can play the part of Educator, Consultant, or Coach:
- The Nutrition Educator teaches the nuts and bolts of nutrition, instructs on how to prepare healthy meals, and teaches how to grocery shop for health.
- The Nutrition Consultant offers guidance tailored to your needs, using a detailed health history, diet/health journal, and (often) lab testing. The Nutrition Consultant customizes solutions to each person’s unique biochemistry, genetics, lifestyle, environment, and outlook on life.
- The Nutrition Coach will facilitate goal setting and then help break the process down into chunks, so it doesn’t become overwhelming. The Coach will give reinforcement, hold you accountable, and coach you through your process.
I am all of the above: an educator, a consultant, a couch, and even a counselor. When we sit down together, we’ll have a supportive (and confidential) conversation to identify your health goals, obstacles, frustrations, and confusions. One step at a time, I will give you the tools, education, support, and guidance you need to soon bridge the gap between where you currently are and where you want to be. My mission it to provide you with a comfortable, nurturing, low-pressure space in which we can empower and inspire each other.
Who would benefit from Food Therapy’s nutrition programs?
People who want to make health a priority in their life and need direction, instructions, or the motivation to do so.
Who would NOT benefit from the programs?
People looking for a magic pill or quick fix or who are not willing to follow through. This is not a diet. You will be tapping into your own self-awareness and intuition about what works best for your unique body.

What programs do you offer?
Although we work with each client to customize a nutrition program that works for their specific needs and goals, our two primary offerings are a 4-Month Nutrition Consulting & Wellness Coaching Program and a 21-Day Detox Program.
How do I know which program is right for me?
During your initial consultation, we will assess an appropriate plan of action that depends upon your goals and your current lifestyle.
How do I get started?
There are several ways you can get started with Food Therapy. We are always happy to offer you a complimentary 10-minute phone consultation to get an idea if we might be the right fit for each other. From there, you are welcome to come in to our office in San Francisco (or phone or Skype) for an initial consultation.
Once we chat the first time (and this might happen during our initial phone consultation), you might know right away which program sounds right for you, in which case, you are encouraged to dive right in. Or, you may choose to see us for individual sessions here and there.
We also offer workshops from time to time. Attending a workshop can be a great way to get a feel for our style in a casual, fun setting. You can join our mailing list to be notified of upcoming workshops and events, as well as to get free nutrition advice and recipes from our Sexy Soup Cart!
